A Cruise to the Caribbean

We took a cruise out of New York on the Holland America Line to the Caribbean and after touring some of the islands in the Caribbean, we returned to New York. New York was cool but the south was warm.  The ship, the MS Noordam, was just completed in January 2006.

After leaving the dock, the great ship, Noordam, turned down river and we saw the skyline of New York gliding by.
The ship was heading toward the end of Manhatten and the air was getting chilly enough for mom  to pull the hood over her head.

When New York was left behind, we ventured into the stateroom and mom carefully read all of the literature provided for us.
On the second night, the Captain had a champagne reception for us.  Here we were introduced to the heads of various departments of the ship.

As we went south the air got warmer and many began to spend time out on the deck by the outside swimming pool.  Some even went swimming.
Mom still had her jacket on, however, and was patiently waiting for the really warm weather to appear.
