Our cruise to Hawaii started out from San Diego on the Holland American Lines
ship, the Zaandam. After four days of sailing we arrived at the first
stop which was Hilo on the island of Hawaii or the big island.
From there we followed the yellow line (on the map from NASA)
first to Lahaina, Maui, then to Nawiliwili, Kauai, then to Honolulu,
Oahu and returned to Kona (orange line) on the big island before
setting sail for Ensenada, Mexico.
But before we left San Diego we did a little touring there.
|From our motel we walked up to the Old Town Historic Park.
Mom is standing at the counter getting our tickets for a
bus-trolley of San Diego. The trolley was next to her and we were
the last ones to board.
||Our first stop was on Coronado Island, where we saw a big hotel, which mom thought was "nice."
|It was a really big hotel and in fact it is the largest
wooden hotel in the area. Mom thought it looked even nicer on
the ocean side.
||She also thought that it had a wonderful beach, even though it was a little chilly for here to go swimming that day.
