Viking Cruise - Page 4

bag pipes
parades
We arrived at the Royal Military Tattoo, to find a damp setting and we were well exposed to the rain.
There were lots of bagpipe bands from all over the world.  We did not get many usable pictures since the rain and lights caused severe blurring in the pictures.
from Jordan
the ship?
This is a drill team from Jordan in the full array.  The manual of arms must be difficult in those robes.
The next day we left our anchorage in the Firth of Forth and went down the Firth and what should we meet but another of HAL's dam ships coming up the Firth. It looks just like our ship and our cabin was on the starboard side two decks above the bridge towards the front of the ship.
an abbey
map2
This is Inchcolm Abbey on the Isle of Incholm in the middle of the Firth of Forth close to Edinburgh.  It is the most complete monastic abbey in Scotland and a major tourist side.  There is a ferry which brings people out to see it.
Our sea journey takes us next to the Orkney Islands which are situated just north of Scotland and are part of this country.  We will be there in the morning. (From Google Earth)
