back
With a last view of the steam gushing from the ground we hastened back to the ship to be the last passengers on board. Not quite since there were some others who arrived after us.
This is a view of Reykjavik from our stateroom balcony on the ship. It is a view  of the dock area.

Looking the other way we can see the open water, the gangway,  and the end of the dock.  We are just about ready to leave the island for a greener place.
It is a day's sail from Iceland to Greenland.  Why is Iceland green and Greenland icy looking? (From Google Earth)

the Sund
The next day we spend slowly sailing through Prins Christian Sund, which is marked on the map above. This was on our way to Qaqortoq in the upper left side of the map.  (From Google Earth)
On a clear day the scenery is breathtaking and there is lots of sea life - so they say.  For us it was floating ice and fog banks. This is the entrance to the Sund.  There is a weather station on the left.
