Viking Cruise - Page 19

long way to the sea
great view
It was a great community in a great location. Why did the Vikings leave?  Just because of a few Indian attacks. It is hard to believe that the Inu drove off the feared Vikings.
Mom enjoys the view forgetting the fact that everything she sees is white and solid during the winter.  But you can walk forever.
viking couple
to St. John's
This old viking couple decide to pose for a picture as they get ready to go back to the ship which will be heading to St. John's on the morrow.
The entrance to St. John's harbor is on the left.  There is another opening to a harbor on the right which is just big enough for a rowboat.  The opening to St. John's harbor is at least twice as big.  It should be big enough for the ship since it docked here last year.
will it fit
closer
This the view from our cabin balcony as we approach the opening to the harbor.  Someone is posted on the starboard side of the bridge below us to make sure the ship clears the rocks on the right.
We are getting closer and now it looks like two people are on the right of the bridge to make sure we clear the rocks.  Many ships do not clear the rocks, including my greatgreatgreat uncle who went down with all hands in February in the middle of the nineteenth century.
