This is another view of the spectacular scenery in this part of the country.
This is a close up of the Navajo Twins.  There is a cafe around the corner where you can find Navajo Pizza.

Mesa Verde
Most of the area was flat as we entered Colorado, but occasionally you would see  towers rising up from the plain.  This was the view on our way to Durango, CO. 
From Durango, we took a full day tour of Mesa Verde National Park.  The guy in blue is one of our guides on this tour.

This was the base of a pit house.  Poles were placed at the corners to support a roof and the sides were covered. There was a hole in the roof above the fire pit.
These homes could be built next to each other in a row. They were the first form of housing when Pueblo first came to the area about 1400 years ago.
